Here are our 3 tips to get aligned


1: Other local business units under your brand are sometimes competition, but in a marketing sense, they can also be your greatest asset. While you might want to believe going after the other guy's customers can be a great use of marketing funds, you might find that the ROI just isn't there.


This is because when two are more entities are buying similar ads in the same area, the costs go up. And since everyone is representing the same overall brand, the parent brand's own local or regional advertising is... you guessed it... bringing the costs up, too!


One way to mitigate this is to become aligned in marketing. When there is a clear marketing strategy and guidelines to keep everyone on track, marketing budgets go further due to now inherent efficiency.


2: Vendors or Suppliers. Everyone of them has their own "Special Sauce" so to speak. And you want a choice on who to use to get that marketing edge you feel they bring to the table.


We aren't saying paving your own path is detrimental, because being ahead of the pack can show everyone what they are missing in terms of marketing. At the same time, though, when each location is using a different marketing vendor, as mentioned above, there will be no comprehensive strategies to help everyone succeed, and it can end up costing even more money.

No, you won't loose that local edge! The vendor only has to focus on what's going on locally, instead of figuring out brand messaging, what the other guy is doing, and where to target.
